Mallnitz is one of the most beautiful hiking regions of Europe and therefore the ideal starting point for hikes and moutain routes in the National Parc. A diversified and manifold range of hiking routes is at your disposal. Alpine hiking takes place in the 3 high valleys on 3 altitude levels, from the valley at 1.200 m elevation, the mountain pastures to the summit region over 3.000 m elevation. On 150 km of hiking paths hikers of all ages and all conditions find their perfect match. The offer for mountaineers ranges from comfortable mountain routes to very challenging ascents.
Since 2009 Mallnitz is member of "Alpine Pearls" und belongs therefore to the 21 villages in the alps who enable real comfortable holidays with soft mobility. By abdiction of the own car absolute recreation and a stressless vacation is guaranteed.
Mallnitz is also one of the few villages in Austria who may use the term high-altitude health resort. Here, on an elevation of 1.200 m, you can find the most romantic caleidoscope sky: millions of glittering stars. Experience this phenomenon at night during a walk in the Tauern or Seebach valley or on the mountain in a hut of the alpine club.
