Mallnitz is the "pearl" of the Hohe Tauern National Parc. Here you don't have to search for a long time to find precious treasures and natural gems. The plateau in the heart of the Hohe Tauern is the perfect starting point for hikes and mountain trips in the National Parc.
150 km of hiking paths are spread over 3 different altitudinal belts with numerious specatular hikes. For every age, every level of endurance and every taste you will find the right choice. Not only hikers, but also mountaineers will be satisfied.
There are several possiblities to discover the Hohe Tauern National Parc: by bike, when Nordic Walking, Trekking, Climbing or just when having a walk in wonderful nature.

Mallnitz is situated amidst the 3000m peaks of the Hohe Tauern. The very location is a guarantee for unlimited skiing fun. Our local mountain, the Ankogel, is waiting for you with a breathtaking view for miles around, with sunnny slopes and lots of powder snow.
The spacious skiing area of the Ankogel is ideal not only for families, but also for free riders. and it is only 22 km to the Mölltal glacier, Carinthia's highest skiing area at 3.100 m elevation.
But also off the slopes Mallnitz has quite a few offers: 25 km of cross-country ski runs and countless tours for snow-shoe hiking or ski tours, well-cleared winter hiking ways, and toboggan-runs.

Since 2009 Mallnitz belongs to "Alpine Pearls", a selection of special villages in the alps who combine unique holiday pleasures with gentle tourism and mobility possible. The abdication of the car is not only worthwhile for climate protection, but also for absolute recreation and more time for discovering and enjoying. Your unlimited mobility will be taken care of.
In summer the hiking bus of the National Parc will bring you to more than 30 selected hiking destinations and places of excursion and in winter the ski bus, the ski touring and tobogganing taxi are at your disposal.
